Barton Warren Johnson, a famous American minister and teacher, was born in Illinois in 1833. He received very little education until he was seventeen years old, when he entered the Walnut Grove Academy. From then on, his academic career grown successfully until he graduated with honors from the Bethany College. He taught in many schools and colleges and preached on Sundays at neighboring parishes. He died in 1894, leaving several books written, being his People's New Testament one of the most famous. This work, published originally in two volumes, is a detailed, verse-by-verse commentary on the Four Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, Epistles and Revelation. Johnson's aim was to explain the Word of God to common people and not to the learned, academic readers. Thus, it can be very useful for preachers and clerics to prepare their sermons, as well as for people wanting to better understand the Scriptures. BibleMaximum has issued this useful work as an extra module for their BibleMax software. BibleMax is a useful program for reading, studying and researching the Holy Bible. One of its most attractive characteristics is the fact that you can add as many modules as you want or need. Some of these modules can be downloaded from the developer's site, while others, like this one, can be obtained by ordering a free CD and paying only the duplication, printing, postage and handling costs.
